The Magic Hotel Renovation Project by the Pinkwhale Club
After the Balayo Off-Grid project, we spent a few months living in a cave, learning to trade, and doing some self-development until we found out what next.
…and one day we found something…:
“A couple is needed to renovate and run a hotel”…. Sounds nice! 🙂
Our first meeting with the owner was exciting. He offered us (me) a 2 months trial period with a part-time contract (22h/week), and after “I proved my skills” I’ll get a full-time contract (40h/week), of course with accommodation. Leti, my girlfriend will do the cleaning tasks at the beginning only 1 day per week and as she is needed.
We were told by the owner, our ‘boss’ that they have been seeking a couple who could take care of this project for the long term.
For me, it seems like a nice thing to do! I can build a resort on the beach, no rush …. At the same time, I can continue building the Pinkwhale Club, creating educational content on the construction, learning, going deeper into crypto, trading, and self-development, etc.
However, there are a few questions that remain on the way:
-how fast I can do it when I’m allowed to work only 4 hours a day,
-what is my assurance against me finishing the job during the trial period and I will not be sent away, making a fool out of myself…etc ??? (this situation occurs often in Spain as private employers tend to change their opinions and agreements quite often, leaving the employees in inconvenient situations)
After the trial, we suppose to get full-time contracts.
The deal seems good, as You can see on our YouTube or TikTok videos, the surrounding is insane! I like the project, and I feel very enthusiastic about it as a challenge to build it on my own.
I started the renovation in august of 2022.
The buildings were kind of abandoned for a long time and now the owner wants to renovate all and open a resort.
I love the project, and the place this hotel is located. We are in Tenerife, Spain, right next to the Playa De Burro, an amazing place in the Canary Islands in the Atlantic Ocean!
I want to do this! 😀
However, this story seems to be too good to be true. This forever-green saying is really actual these times.
Finally, I got offered a part-time contract with undefined end part-time, the additional staff is very funny, I couldn’t even renovate the place if I sign it as “I’m not allowed to make modifications on the property…” …totally ridiculous…
…So, we have some red flags….
Building State Analysis
The first building has 7 rooms next to each other with windows facing the Atlantic Ocean.
The structure is a bit ‘second-hand’, the walls are cracking, the building is sinking, and the concrete roof is also needed attention due to the broken sections and rusty metal rods inside it.
The plan is, that after finishing our bedroom, we will continue with the corridor. About 40m/1,3m, the wall 2,75m, and the roof are about 0,8m making a total of 3,5m height of the surface. … I’ll have a lot of stuff to do… 😀
After the corridor, I continue with the rooms and when I have the opportunity, I’ll fix the road also.
Stay with me to show You how I make this place a fantastic, one-of-a-kind Magic Hotel!
