Ditch Your Boss On Your Own Terms

2020 – XXI. Century

When I was a child in the kinder garden we had a task one day. We had to draw a picture of the world in 2000. I remember I drew flying cars and futuristic buildings. To look back, it’s funny when I look around now. The world is a bit more different than in the imagination of a 6 years old child 30 years ago. That time my parents went to work every day, they had fixed 8-4 jobs. My mom suggested I become an electrician or car mechanic because these jobs are always needed. It would have made sense. In the end, I become a construction technician. We need houses too, if I would like to follow this logic… 🙂

After I finished school, I’ve enrolled at university for business and economy. That was something! I something I’ve never understood how I got there. I was sitting in class like the economy, statistics, business theory…. And, after 1.5 years a question popped into my head: What the heck is this guy talking about and what I am doing here?! When the class was over I stood up and walked out. Never been back again.
After that my life turned totally upside down. I had businesses, I’ve traveled the world, I was working as a waiter or barman, dive instructor, dive guide… It was fun! After about 12 years, finally, I’ve kind of settled into the weird reality of now. Imagine how it felt after years of living in small islands and remote places somewhere in Asia or South America to be back in the civilization. It took me more than a year to get used to using google when I had a question. Usually, I just asked someone, but nowdays, I always got the same answer: “why don’t you google it?!” It was strange. I felt like being on another planet.

So, I started to integrate into the new surroundings, I made a car wash business which I sold later, and moved to Spain to learn Spanish so I started to search for a job and go back into the rat wheel. I don’t know if it’s the age or I’m just getting ‘wiser’ but I got really fed up with the employers. The use of human resources like second-hand car parts really hurt. When You face the fact that you need a job and the employer needs someone to take care of their customer or was the dishes in his restaurant like a robot, I felt really humiliated. When you need to listen to some strangers all day and you just want to punch him in the face, jump on his chest and shout at him to shut the f..k up and F..K O.F! Of course, You can’t! You need the job. Need the money to pay the rent, so they just keep taking advantage of you expecting high-level work for a shameful salary. … You go to work every day asking what the heck I’m doing? The more time passes, the more miserable you feel.

You start to think about how valuable you are and how did you get to this point? I felt ashamed about the situation because I know I can do better than this. It’s just wasting my time and talent on making money for a hustler who doesn’t give a damn about me, uses me like a vending machine, and thinks he can do whatever with me coz I’m his employee.

So what can You do in a situation like this? You need the money and there are some of the highest-profile jobs are waiting for you, like dishwasher, waiter, cleaner lady if you are lucky.

Would You take it?
Or not?
I chose not to.

I got so pissed of about this mistreatment I decided not to work for anyone ever in this life. So what can I do? This is the XXI century I thought so I asked google. 😀 I’ve found the solution! Entrepreneurship! Sure! Working from my laptop and doing what I like and nobody uses me anymore. I’ve enrolled in a course to learn how could I ditch the job-hunting, self-disappointing, miserable lifestyle and change it to something exciting, most profitable, but mainly something that makes more sense to me than just trading my time for my bills basically.
A whole new world opened up.

I’m still on the learning curve, but I love every bit of this. I’ve been learning about marketing, leads, platforms, things I have had no idea before. It has been an adventurous time, I’ve been learning a lot on a personal level, professionally and of course, I’ve made lots of mistakes as well.

I got scammed a few times by Nigerians on crypto scams and freelance site builder (also from Nigeria :-D) by now I can spot a Nigerian scammer already when they write me “Hello Sir!” 😀 To be honest these guys are doing scamming on another level. At some point, I like their fineness and how they pull these scams off. It’s amazing. Don’t misunderstand, they are assholes cheating everybody they can but also there is something I respect. They do a “good job”.

I think these mistakes are kind of normal when you start online and you don’t have a mentor to help you. In my next post, I will tell You more about these mistakes and how to avoid them. On the other side, there are many surprises too on the road. I’ve met strangers from all around the world who gave me helped hands only because they saw a post of mine and they wanted to help me out. For free! (Or almost for free) There is a competition and of course, everybody tries to make money, but in the online world, I have found something that’s very rare outside: Helping others! For me, this Is The NEW WORLD ORDER! Helping others to rise!

Even if you are in competition, you get help, support, you can even find your group of people to work together with. That’s called ‘socializing’. Making friends with people, helping each other.

And after a while, when you are more or less walking the road and when you went through hell and came back maybe a few times, you have learned the lessons and never quit, one day you will get your first comment, sign-ups maybe the first commission and slowly – slowly you will start making money and finally you can ditch your GD boss! 😀

In my next post. I will tell you more about my adventures of being an entrepreneur.

Stay tuned!

Thank You for reading! 😀
